Slavka Kolesar studied figurative painting at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, holding a BFA in visual studies & art history from Univ. of Toronto. She's illustrated many books, including La Légende de Carcajou, a finalist for the Governor General's Award, The Sun is a Shine and My Promise. In 2017, Slavka was the TD Summer Reading Club illustrator. She lives in Jaffray, British Columbia.
