Whole Peony Flowers

Peony is used for spells of beauty, healing, prosperity, protection from storms, and spirit banishment. Some carry it in their purse for good financial luck. It is thought to be connected to femininity, the Sun, the sign of Leo, the element of wood, and yin energy. Some connect it to Ostara, the god Pan, faeries, woodpeckers, the month of May, and happy marriage. Some have carved beads from peony roots as protective amulets.

Various species of peony are native to Asia, Europe, and western North America. Peony and its genus Paeonia is named for the Greek god Paeon, physician of the gods. Most garden peonies are of the species Paeonia lactiflora, originating from eastern Asia, and they are deeply tied with Chinese culture. Peony has a long history of medicinal use in eastern Asia, and its root is especially valued. It is bitter, cold, and sour. It has been used to cool & nourish the blood, improve liver function, move stagnated blood, and relieve pain. It was also used to flavour food.

Our peony plant at first seemed to appear out of nowhere. We eventually discovered that it had been planted by Kendra's mother, only blooming its first bloom two years after her death. Every year, this flower has bloomed more and bigger blooms, bringing more love and fortune to our home, which are happy to share with you. Originally, we sold only peony petals, but we have shifted now to drying the blooms whole. Because of this, weight and price vary, and each package may hold one or two blooms. Additionally, while they are dried and packaged whole, they are brittle and may break somewhat before they arrive at your home. Weights are approximate, and supplies are limited.

Our herbs are not packaged in a commercial kitchen, and, as such, are not fit for human consumption in accordance with Health Canada regulations. We provide information about food and health benefits for educational purposes only. Our herbs are not to be consumed and are sold for religious, spiritual, and curio purposes. Our herbs are stocked at our booth at the 400 Market in Innisfil, Ontario, which is only open on weekends, which may delay fulfillment of online orders. When ordering online, your peony package will be intuitively chosen for you from the size/price range you select. All our prices are inclusive of sales tax within Canada, when applicable.
