Each piece of authentic Ukranian bog-wood has lain entombed in acidic bogs without seeing light for centuries. These pieces are stained with natural tannins and some may be partially mineralized, undergoing the process that would have eventually resulted in fossilization. When exposed to moisture, these tannins naturally start leaching, and some of the mineral dust may rub off of the raw pieces. Each of these pieces measures approximately 15 cm x 2.5 cm.
