3 oz jar of Sandalwood

This jar of sandalwood resin has more than enough for spells and incense for a year, though the bail lid glass jar will keep your resin in great condition for much longer AND look stylish on your shelf. Our sandalwood resin, sourced from India, is hard, brittle, and dark reddish-brown. It smells barely smoky-sweet, musky, woody, with just a hint of an almost clove-like scent. All items ship from our booth at the 400 Market in Innisfil, Ontario, and all our prices are inclusive of sales tax within Canada.

Sandalwood is a valuable aromatic wood known for its long-lasting fragrance. It is extracted mainly in India and the Malay Archipelago. Sandalwood oil has a soft, creamy scent and is used in perfumes. The wood's over-harvesting due to its high value has been a concern. Sandalwood is a key ingredient in various fragrance families and is widely used in the cosmetic industry in India.

Sandalwood has had diverse cultural and religious significance. The “sandal” part of “sandalwood,” as well as the genus name Santalum, comes from the Sanskrit “čandana,” meaning “wood for burning incense.” Sandalwood is loved everywhere it grows, and has an incredibly rich history of use in India, where it has been used for Hindu statues, rituals, and ceremonies, Jainist practices and cremation ceremonies, Buddhist traditions of meditation and offerings, and Sufi grave-annointing practices. It is also used in various East Asian rituals and ceremonies and keeps fires burning in Zoroastrian temples.

Sandalwood enhances spirituality and intuition, often included in protection, exorcism, healing, and spiritual blends. Aligned with the moon and the water element, sandalwood is a versatile mystical oil commonly found in the magical cabinets of witches.
