About 4" in size, this large piece of sunstone is great for display, energy work, and altars.
Sunstone tends to be an orange-hued very sparkly stone that can range from translucent to almost opaque. The sparkles come from flecks of red copper in flat, irregular shapes that happen to form in the stone, just like a natural glitter! Despite this, they didn't get popular until fairly recently. Sunstone is found in Canada, Greece, India, Norway, and USA.
Contrary to what some people think, sunstone is not actually a form of aventurine. It's alternative name is "aventurine feldspar" because both sunstone and aventurine are coloured with flecks of copper. But sunstone is a feldspar and aventurine is a quartz.
As made obvious by the name, sunstone is associated with the sun. Because of this, the stone is believed to have a cleansing effect on negativity and to give big boosts to energy and confidence!
